Join the Library’s NaNoWriMo challenge – November 1 – 30

Beginning November 1, NaNoWriMo (or National Novel Writing Month) challenges participants to accomplish the goal of writing a 50,000- word novel by 11:59 PM on November 30.

And here at the Library, we want to help!  We’re hosting several “Come Write In” sessions, where writers can set up their laptops in a quiet space and get to work on their word counts.  Door prizes and help will be available.

Track your writing (and maybe win a PRIZE!)

Sign up to track your NaNoWriMo progress in Beanstack, and each activity you complete will earn you an entry into a grand prize drawing.  Quite the incentive to write!

Participating is easy.  Activities include starting your novel, adding to your word count, attending a “Come Write In” session – even registering in the program earns you an entry in the drawing!

Register here or at the Reference desk.  If you registered for Summer Reading last year, you’ll use your same login information to register for this program.  You can also contact us by phone at 815-327-2515 or by email at
