Adult Discussion Groups

No registration required. These groups meet here at the Library. See Kara at the Reference Desk for details.

  • A Novel Idea Book Discussion Group
    Meets on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm in the library’s Large Meeting Room. We read thought-provoking titles, usually fiction, with the goal of stimulating a spirited discussion. Stop by the Reference Desk to pick up the featured book and come to the discussion to get the next month’s title. Anyone with a library card may join the group.
  • Cover to Cover Book Club
    Meets the third Wednesday of the month at 1:00 pm. We read mostly fiction, with a few nonfiction titles sprinkled in throughout the year. Stop by the Reference Desk to pick up the featured book and come to the discussion to get the next month’s title. Anyone with a library card may join the group. (This book club has been cancelled until further notice)
  • Not Your Mama’s Book Club
    Meets on the first Monday of the month at 7:00 pm. We read a variety of titles, ranging from horror to young adult to nonfiction. Stop by the Reference Desk to pick up the featured book and come to the discussion to get the next month’s title. Anyone with a library card may join the group. (This book club has been cancelled until further notice)

Book Discussion Kits
The Plainfield Public Library has a growing collection of Book Discussion Kits available to lend to our patrons and fellow libraries who are seeking multiple copies of books for discussion. Each discussion set contains 12 books.
